In the fall of 2011 I took my first Solo trip to Colombia, backpacking all over the country. I felt immediately that this is a life changing experience. The people I traveled with the sights, and culture, and the stories I've shared with people have left a deep impact on me making me hungry for more. I made it a point to go on at least one big adventure every year. It’s so easy to get trapped in our little bubble, no matter what industry we’re in. I believe it’s so important to mix with people from different backgrounds and get immersed in different environments in order to spark new ideas and bring fresh perspectives into one's work and environment.

As a professional illustrator, and a hobbyist photographer  I am always torn whether I should pull my sketchbook out of my bag or my camera, when I see something interesting. While these two mediums provide me a very different experience, both challenge me to look closely at the world around me, and find the interesting little stories in the places I visit, and the people I meet.
